Holy Week/ The Most Important Reason
It's the start of the Holy Week!Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday then... Easter!

I found this story through a friend's blog, it's a story
about love, specifically self love. What are thoughts about it?
The Most Important Reason
Three days ago, I was swamped with work.
I had so many articles to write, so many meetings to plan, so many business concerns… But my wife said, “Please bring Francis to the Barbershop. He’ll be a ring bearer.” That’s the disadvantage of having a cute son. He gets to be ring bearer a lot.
So I put aside all my work in the afternoon and brought him to the Barber.
After the haircut, I was thinking that we were going back home so I could work. That was when 4-year old Francis said, “Daddy, I’m hungry.”
So we marched to Jollibee and he ate chicken and rice at 4 in the afternoon!
Again, as we were leaving, I was presuming I could now go back to work. But Francis tugged on my arm again and said, “Daddy, I’m still hungry.” My gosh. Where does this little guy put all that food?
Later on, I realized he was hungry not for food but for love. Specifically, hungry for Daddy’s love.
So we kept on walking, visiting other shops, until he saw a playground. His eyes grew large and said, “Daddy, can I play?”
I believe life is about moments. So I bought myself a cup of coffee, sat on a park bench, and enjoyed watching my 4-year old jump from one slide to another. We had the grandest time.
Why did I disrupt my whole afternoon for Francis?
Because I’m his father and he’s my son.
He’s more important than all my work.
He’s more important than all my ministries.
He’s more important than all the books I write and all the talks I give.
Friend, this is the ultimate reason why you need to like yourself.
Because you have a Father who loves you so much.
You’re more important than all the stars in the sky.
You’re more important than all the galaxies of this universe.
In the heart of God, nothing compares with you.
If He loves you this much, how can you not like yourself?

Lent.
Hello all!We are now in the season of Lent.
What is Lent? It's the period of time where we prepare ourselves for our Lord's Resurrection (Easter Sunday) through prayers, fasting and alms giving. It lasts approximately 40 days.
To find out more about Lent, you can check out this Everything you ever wanted to know about Lent but were afraid to ask link.
Anyway this is the period of time that Catholics will try to sacrifice something or deny themselves some form of pleasure. We do this not because we are crazy masochists, but because by denying ourselves something we enjoy, we discipline our wills so that we are not slaves to our pleasures. We also make an effort to go for the sacrament of reconciliation (i.e. confession) more often.
Speaking about confession. something struck me the other day when I went for my confession.
It occurred to me that whenever I was about to sin, I would deliberately ignore God and His promptings (which were Always there). I denied Him in my moment of weakness. Utterly ashamed I must say.
However if you feel this way, just remember someone else also denied God. 3 times in a row in fact. I'm talking about St Peter. Just remember that he didn't wallow in self pity for having done such a deed. He went on to become the first pope and one of the greatest saints of the Church.
So If we ever feel unforgivable for having denied and failed God, just remember St Peter. You just have to stand up, dust yourself off, go for reconciliation and repent.
Have a fruitful Lent!
*By the way, Lent is the old English word for spring. Spring... a time for renewal and fresh beginnings ....

Simplicity and Obedience.
Simplicity is the secret to seeing things clearly.A saint does not think clearly until a long time passes, but a saint ought to see clearly without any difficulty.
You cannot think through spiritual confusion to make things clear; to make things clear, you must obey.In intellectual matters you can think things out, but in spiritual matters you will only think yourself into further wandering thoughts and more confusion.
If there is something in your life upon which God has put His pressure, then obey Him in that matter. Bring all your "arguments and . . . every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ" regarding the matter, and everything will become as clear as daylight to you ( 2 Corinthians 10:5 ). Your reasoning capacity will come later, but reasoning is not how we see. We see like children, and when we try to be wise we see nothing (see Matthew 11:25 ).
Even the very smallest thing that we allow in our lives that is not under the control of the Holy Spirit is completely sufficient to account for spiritual confusion, and spending all of our time thinking about it will still never make it clear.
Spiritual confusion can only be conquered through obedience. As soon as we obey, we have discernment. This is humiliating, because when we are confused we know that the reason lies in the state of our mind. But when our natural power of sight is devoted and submitted in obedience to the Holy Spirit, it becomes the very power by which we perceive God’s will, and our entire life is kept in simplicity.

Satan's Meeting
As Jesus told us "Be always on guard, expecting the Lord", may we never lose sight of Him in our midst of busy-ness.

Wait.
Hello, how is everyone? We are coming to the end stages of the long journey, and we might just be a bit impatient to finish everything up quick.
Impatience... that's something many of us suffer from. We just want things to be done our own way and immediately. We are impatient with all sorts of things: impatient with the bus, impatient with our parents, impatient with God.
So many times have we prayed for something, or for some direction from God and yet there seems to be no answer...
Maybe this poem (sent to me by a dear friend) might help...
Oh and Happy Valentine's!
The Wait Poem
Russell Kelfer
Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried;
Quietly, patiently, lovingly, God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate...
and the Master so gently said,"Wait."
"Wait? you say wait?" my indignant reply.
"Lord, I need answers, I need to know why!"
Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard?
By faith I have asked, and I'm claiming your Word.
My future and all to which I relate
hangs in the balance and you tell me to Wait?"
I'm needing a 'yes', a go-ahead sign.
Or even a 'no,' to which I'll resign.
You promised, dear Lord, that if we believe,
We need but to ask, and we shall receive.
Lord, I've been asking, and this is my cry:
I'm weary of asking! I need a reply.
Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate
as my Master replied again, "Wait."
So I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut,
and grumbled to God, "So, I'm waiting...for what?"
He seemed then to kneel, and His eyes met with mine...
and He tenderly said, "I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heavens and darken the sun.
I could raise the dead and cause mountains to run.
I could give all you seek and pleased you would be.
You'd have what you want, but you wouldn't know Me.
You'd not know the depth of My love for each saint.
You'd not know the power that I give to the faint.
You'd not learn to see through clouds of despair;
you'd not learn to trust just by knowing I'm there.
You'd not know the joy of resting in Me
when darkness and silence are all you can see.
You'd never experience the fullness of love
when the peace of My spirit descends like a dove.
You would know that I give, and I save, for a start,
But you'd not know the depth of the beat of My heart.
The glow of My comfort late into the night,
the faith that I give when you walk without sight.
The depth that's beyond getting just what you ask
From an infinite God who makes what you have last.
You'd never know should your pain quickly flee,
what it means that My grace is sufficient for thee.
Yes, your dearest dreams overnight would come true,
but oh, the loss if I lost what I'm doing in you.
So, be silent, my child, and in time you will see
that the greatest of gifts is to truly know me.
And though oft My answers seem terribly late,
My most precious answer of all is still "WAIT".

Sacrifice.
God's love for a fallen world is most clearly seen in the death of His Son. A video features the scenes from the movie "Most" reminds us of our Heavenly Father.
